Course content:
We will introduce you to the principles and exercises of Ashtanga Yoga so that after the course you can participate in beginner-level classes. The special features of Ashtanga Yoga are deep breathing, also called "breath of fire", and the activation of the center of the body with the help of deep supporting muscles or bandhas. In the exercises of the posture series, deep breathing is combined with the dynamic practice of yoga postures. This exercise method, known as vinyasa, warms up and flexes the body effectively.
After the course:
You can participate in guided beginner classes, Beginners 1 or Beginners 1/2. In addition, you will receive instructions for home yoga during the course. Yoga practice is most often built on exercises done both in the yoga studio and at home. The aim is to have regular weekly practice, supported by a versatile yoga practice series.
Regular Ashtanga practice balances the body and mind, relieves the effects of stress and promotes overall well-being. Once you have internalized your own set of exercises, you can practice more freely at your own pace and yoga becomes a deeper concentration exercise that promotes presence in the moment and develops self-awareness.
To develop your self-paced practice, you can also participate in the so-called elementary Mysore exercises, where you will receive more personal guidance.
